Anxiety · OCD · Women's Mental Health

Support across every stage of a woman's life — not just one symptom.

Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, sexuality, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, perimenopause and menopause rarely show up on their own. I work with teens and adult women to understand how these experiences connect, and to build a way through them.

How I think about this work

Women's mental health does not exist separately from the rest of life.

Anxiety can intensify during fertility treatment, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, changes in relationships, sexual difficulties, career pressure, caregiving, or the transition into perimenopause and menopause. Rather than treating each concern in isolation, therapy looks at the fuller picture — the emotional, physical and relational threads running through it.

I work with clients experiencing constant worry, intrusive thoughts, panic, difficulty tolerating uncertainty, changes in sexual desire, concerns about intimacy, grief related to fertility, pregnancy-related fears, changes in identity, body image concerns, burnout, relationship strain, or the sense of feeling unlike yourself during a significant transition.

Approach

Trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

Sessions are primarily built on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, compassion-focused strategies and person-centred therapy brought in as each client's needs call for it.

Getting started

My goal is not simply reducing symptoms.

Therapy can also help you develop greater self-understanding, strengthen boundaries, improve emotional regulation, communicate your needs more effectively, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become lost during periods of stress or transition. Sessions are available in person in Ottawa and virtually, with weekdays, evenings, and in-person appointments also on Thursdays and Saturdays.
